I will give you 1TB of cloud space for free for a year – now give me all your data!

Does this sound familiar? It probably does as most of us have had offers like that. Very tempting on the face of it, but hang on a minute; Didn’t you forget something? In the excitement of getting so much space for no money, you forgot to ask questions like:

  • Where is the data stored?
  • What kind of access speed can I expect?
  • Can I get my data back quickly?
  • Who else can see it?
  • What happens to the data after the honeymoon period – if I choose not to pay after the first year?
  • Who are you, and why would I entrust you with my business secrets, contacts, customer data, patents, financials and whatever else is part of that magnificent and ever-changing organism that is my company?

In fact, why would you hand over your lifeblood to total strangers, just because you hear the two words ‘CLOUD’ and ‘FREE’ mentioned in the same sentence?

There is no such thing as a free lunch and this is no exception. It has been said many a time before, but allow me to remind you once more:

– If something on the internet is free, you  are the product.

In other words, your data could be looked at, and will most likely get analysed to death, and the findings will be used to understand you better, and if you are really unlucky, it will be sold on to the highest bidder.

We have a different idea. It is called the Rockstar Private Cloud, and it is exactly what it sounds like. A cloud solution, which is private. It is yours and yours only – nobody else has access, and you have 100% control over it. Actually you own it and it doesn’t expire. You don’t share with anyone else. All we do is look after it for you in a military grade security facility, and you can access your data from anywhere. You can shut it down, and you can have all your data back the next day.

Is it free? No it isn’t! But it is affordable – very affordable indeed.

9TB of protected, private cloud as explained above will cost you around £150 per month. That is less than £17 per TB per month. Not a lot for a protected and honest space in a cloud, which you can truly call your own.
